Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have a mutual friend to thank for their royal romance.
The newly-engaged couple revealed that they were set up on a blind date last summer and knew very little about each other before they met.
“It was definitely a set-up — it was a blind date,” Harry said during the couple’s revealing interview on Monday. “It was a blind date for sure.” The couple said in their first interview to the BBC after announcing the royal engagement.
Their initial first date was quickly followed by two back-to-back dates in London.
“And then it was I think about three, maybe four weeks later that I managed to persuade her to come and join me in Botswana,” Harry continued. “And we camped out with each other under the stars. She came and joined me for five days out there, which was absolutely fantastic.
“So then we were really by ourselves, which was crucial to me to make sure that we had a chance to know each other.”
Meghan admitted that she didn’t know much about the royal prior to their blind date.
Victoria’s Secret sales are declining, is it a problem of real bodies?
Be part of a Victoria’s Secret Runway is the dream of any model, Gisele Bündchen, Heidi Kluim, Adriana Lima, owners of spectacular bodies have been for a long time the center of its marketing campaigns, but do women want to buy what they wear now? We don’t think so.
Will Victoria’s Secret need to adapt to a new image, that of real women? Are images without photoshot the way to go?
Victoria’s Secret will close 20 stores before the end of the year. Among the 20 are six Victoria’s Secret stores that were closed earlier this year already, but L Brands did not specify which other outlets will close their doors definitely over the next few months. There are also plans to open three new stores this year.
Consistently stagnant Victoria’s Secret sales have led Randal Konik, an analyst at New York-based financial services firm Jefferies, to predict in July that the game is over for brand.
Victoria’s Secret had trouble selling merchandise in the month of June, even when it was at a discount, according to a media report.
Same-store sales at the retail chain were down 1% for the month, with increases in the beauty segment offset by declines in lingerie and the Pink brand.
L Brands, owner of the brand, also announced on Wednesday that Denise Landman, CEO of Victoria’s Secret Pink, will step down later this year. The Pink brand, which previously served as a sort of life jacket for Victoria’s Secret, has also struggled recently.
Landman will be replaced by Amy Hauk, who currently serves as president of merchandising and product development at Bath & Body Works, owned by L Brands.

Kicking off the holiday season, President Trump and first lady Melania Trump lit the National Christmas Tree at the White House. Melania Trump stars in the official unveiling of White House decorations. The video that the First Lady tweeted on Monday shows her overseeing wreath developments, confirming that the lights are lights, marking some markings—all while wearing festive chunky knits and a couple over-the-shoulder jackets.
The White House Office of the First Lady’s press release revealed that Mrs. Trump designed this year’s holiday decorations around the theme “Time-Honored Traditions.”
There are room-by-room thematic variations, like the China Room, which “honors the holiday traditions of dining and hospitality” with a table made up for Christmas dinner with Ronald Reagan’s china.
The Library shows off President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s 1866 edition of A Christmas Carol to honor the tradition of telling Christmas stories. The State Dining Room is now the gingerbread room, and includes Melania’s “signature Christmas wreaths” and so on. It looks nice! Seemed like a lot of work!Start slideshow
